After this year’s rousing celebrations, the Bishop exhorts the clergy and faithful to attend next year’s Chrism Festivals as part of their preparation for the Holy Triduum and Paschal feast. During the Mass, priests and deacons of the See renew their vows among the whole people of God, and the Bishop blesses the oils of Baptism, Chrism and Unction for distribution around the See. The joy of the Mass continues into a time of feasting and fellowship, followed by catechesis by the Bishop, and concluding with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament to send the faithful on our way.
